The over 900 year old former fortified fortress Hohenwerfen fits - thanks to its location - perfectly into the landscape of the Tennengebirge.
In addition to the historic Landesfalkenhof, the fortress houses Austria's first falconry museum with a bird of prey educational trail.
The daily bird of prey flight shows give an insight into the fine art of hunting, which is still practiced in some cultures today.

Thundering waterfalls and raging water masses have cut deeper and deeper into the gorge in St. Johann im Pongau over the millennia. Another true natural spectacle that especially nature lovers get their money's worth. In 2020 the gorge was reopened after a rock fall and now offers a great attraction: a staircase called Helix. It goes high up via the spiral staircase in the legendary Liechtenstein Gorge. No pre-registration is required for groups, but a brief notification of intended group visits will help with the organization. We are happy to do this for our guests. Just let us know.
